Over the last 20 years Ricasoli devoted itself to the strenuous research of the best Sangiovese clones, and their best interpretation of the soil. Colledilà is a cru, coming from a small vineyard particularly suited to this wine, stony and well exposed, where the grapes are selected manually. Much appreciated by international critics, this Sangiovese cru is produced in small quantities, only a few thousand bottles, making it a highly sought after and exclusive wine, which can age for decades.
Colledilà has a characteristic ruby color, pale with bright purple reflections. Its bouquet as a Sangiovese is of rare elegance and femininity: purple flowers in evidence such as the Florentine iris, the lilac and the marvels of Peru, small red fruits such as morello cherries and raspberries, then flint and ethereal notes. In the mouth we find the same elegance, fine and impalpable tannins caress the tongue wrapping it in a silky texture, great acidity, and an incredible sapidity.
